Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Courses

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) covers a wide range of cross-industry technologies. It keeps structural equipment and systems working reliably while cutting operation costs.
NDT engineers design and run targeted tests. These tests find hidden material defects. Unchecked defects may trigger severe accidents. For example, plane crashes, reactor breakdowns, train derailments and pipeline ruptures.
NDT inspections never damage tested parts or raw materials. The tested items can still be fully used after checks. Thus, NDT balances strict quality control and low operation costs perfectly.
NDT widely serves all industrial inspection scenarios. Its core technologies share similarities with medical scan tools. However, NDT only tests non-living industrial components.

Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

Technicians coat test pieces with visible or fluorescent dye liquid. Next, they wipe extra dye off material surfaces and spray developer fluid.
The developer pulls trapped dye out of tiny surface cracks. Visible dye creates clear color contrast to show flaws. Inspectors also use UV light with fluorescent dye. The glowing dye makes hidden defects easy to spot.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

Operators first create magnetic fields on ferromagnetic workpieces. Then they spread dry or liquid iron particles over the surface.
Surface and shallow defects disrupt magnetic lines. Iron particles gather around these weak points. This cluster forms clear visual marks of material flaws.

Radiography Testing (RT)

This method uses X-rays or gamma rays to scan workpieces for inner defects. Users adopt X-ray generators or radioactive isotopes as radiation sources.
Radiation passes through the part and lands on imaging film. The finished shadow image shows the full size of internal flaws. Defects appear as density shifts on film, just like fractures on medical X-ray films.

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

Ultrasonic tools send sound waves into tested materials. The waves bounce back when hitting cracks or gaps.
Equipment records these reflected signals. Operators read the signal data to judge the position, size and depth of hidden inner defects inside components.

Visual and Optical Testing (VT)

Inspectors first observe surfaces with naked eyes to spot visible flaws. They also use magnifiers, mirrors or borescopes to check hard-to-reach areas.
Visual inspection follows standardized operation steps. These rules cover simple surface checks and complex full-structure surveys.

Electromagnetic Testing (ET)

Eddy current testing relies on electromagnetic induction rules. Electromagnetism combines electric current and magnetic fields.
Alternating current flows through coils and creates variable magnetic fields. When coils approach conductive test pieces, the magnetic field generates eddy currents inside the material. Analysts read eddy current changes to find tiny surface defects.

CWI – AWS Course

(American Welding Society – Certified Welding Inspector)

This CWI course refreshes core knowledge of welding inspection.It brings two major benefits for learners. First, it opens up valuable local and global career paths. Second, it lets you learn real-world work from professional welding inspectors.

Practical inspection work covers three core parts. They include active industry codes and standards, basic inspector theories, and hands-on tests on weld samples with standard inspection tools.

AWS Course Experience Requirements
1. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • 5 years of relevant industry experience (standard entry)
  • 3 years of industry experience for applicants with engineering, technology, engineering physics or physical science degrees/diplomas
2. Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI)
  • 2 years of relevant industry experience (standard entry)
  • 6 months of industry experience for applicants with engineering, technology, engineering physics or physical science degrees/diplomas
3. AWS-CWE (Certified Welding Educator)
AWS-CWE shares many similarities with AWS-CWI. One key difference exists: CWE candidates skip the Part C Code Book exam.This certification focuses on teaching expertise. It tests your skills to plan and deliver welder training courses and classroom lessons.
Experience Rules for AWS-CWE
There are no mandatory work experience requirements for CWE applicants.

Welder Training & Testing

(AWS approved Accredited Test Facility)

AWS ATF refers to testing facilities officially accredited by the American Welding Society to conduct professional welder qualification tests. Under this standardized program, authorized CWI inspectors from accredited test facilities witness and complete all welder performance qualification tests. After finishing the required examinations, the facility submits all test results directly to AWS. Once welder candidates pass the evaluation, the American Welding Society issues official Certified Welder (CW) certificates. This program requires no prerequisite courses or certifications. It effectively enhances professional recognition for both companies and individual welders across the industry. The CW program evaluates standard welding procedures widely applied in structural engineering, petroleum pipelines, sheet metal manufacturing and chemical refinery industries. In addition, the program can also certify welders according to customized or non-standard welding specifications provided by specific employers.
