CCIC Cross-Port Linkage Secures Quality of North-South Grain Shipment

Recently, CCIC Northeast Region and CCIC Jiangsu Branch launched a cross-regional collaborative inspection operation, successfully delivering integrated loading, unloading and transshipment inspection services for 47,000 tons of bulk corn at Bayuquan Port and Jingjiang Port. Through professional cross-regional testing services, the two units have fully streamlined the whole quality control chain for China’s North-to-South Grain Transport, laying a solid foundation for safe grain circulation.

North-to-South Grain Transport serves as a critical linchpin safeguarding national food security and smoothing the cycle of grain production and marketing. Based in China’s major northern grain-producing areas, CCIC Northeast Region has built extensive expertise in bulk grain inspection at key northern ports, with mature operational experience covering grain source identification, vessel loading supervision and bulk grain trade testing. Rooted in hub ports along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, CCIC Jiangsu Branch boasts full-spectrum capabilities in riverine grain logistics transshipment, warehouse operation and local customs clearance, delivering robust support for quality supervision under the North-to-South Grain Transport initiative.

Leveraging their respective local resources and technical strengths, the two CCIC divisions adopted a joint operation framework featuring round-the-clock on-vessel attendance, synchronized full-process unloading supervision and closed-loop management throughout all procedures. They completed end-to-end inspection of the 47,000 tons of corn with outstanding results, enabling accurate verification of grain loading volumes, real-time monitoring of quality indicators and full traceability of all operations — a strong underpinning for efficient and seamless waterborne grain transshipment.

Frontline inspectors carried out meticulous sampling, patrols and unloading supervision across grain stockpiles, cargo holds and transfer chutes to identify every potential quality hazard. Meanwhile, laboratory teams rigorously tested all physical and chemical indicators to determine grain quality via precise analytical data, effectively forming a closed-loop quality supervision system spanning northern loading ports to Yangtze River unloading terminals.

Moving forward, China Certification & Inspection Group (CCIC) will further deepen cross-regional coordination. By offering more efficient, accurate and reliable comprehensive quality services, CCIC will empower the North-to-South Grain Transport system, drive high-quality development of cross-regional grain trade industries along the Yangtze River, and inject robust momentum into China’s national food security governance framework.
