On April 13 and 14, Xu Zengde, Chairman, and Li Yongji, General Manager of China Certification & Inspection Group (CCIC), met in Beijing with a visiting delegation headed by David Weinstein, President and Chief Executive Officer of CSA Group (Canadian Standards Association). The two sides jointly held a ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of their cooperation.
David Weinstein, President and CEO of CSA Group; Rich Weiser, Executive Vice President of Global Operations; and Farhan Imam, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, attended the talks and anniversary event. Mark Richardson, Minister-Counsellor of the Canadian Embassy in China, was present at the commemoration ceremony. Lv Qi, Deputy General Manager of CCIC, also attended both the talks and the anniversary activities.
Xu Zengde extended a warm welcome to David Weinstein and his delegation, congratulated CSA Group on its remarkable development achievements, and provided an overview of CCIC’s strategic layout, business development, and exploration in emerging areas. He stated that CCIC is willing to take this meeting as an opportunity to strengthen the coordination mechanism with CSA Group on the basis of existing cooperation and broaden the scope of cooperation in fields such as new energy vehicles (NEVs) and artificial intelligence (AI).
David Weinstein spoke highly of the long-standing sound cooperative relationship between CSA Group and CCIC. He stated that CSA Group remains firmly optimistic about the long-term development prospects of the Chinese market. He expressed the hope that leveraging their respective strategic layouts and professional strengths, the two sides will jointly provide high-quality service support for the smooth flow and stability of global industrial and supply chains.
Li Yongji noted that since the commencement of cooperation, CCIC and CSA Group have forged a partnership spanning four decades. The two sides have maintained in-depth collaboration and delivered pragmatic win-win results in the inspection, testing and certification industry, reaping a host of fruitful achievements. Going forward, both parties will further deepen all-round strategic cooperation, embark hand in hand on the next 40 years and even longer-term collaboration, and bolster the steady and sustainable development of China-Canada economic and trade ties.
The two sides also jointly reviewed their 40-year journey of hand-in-hand cooperation, briefed each other on their respective business operations and development progress, and conducted in-depth exchanges on future cooperation areas. Both parties agreed to take the 40th anniversary as a new starting point. They will work together to deliver more efficient and high-quality localized services for global customers, support Chinese manufacturing to go global, and drive the high-quality development of the inspection, testing and certification industry.
