On March 20, Xu Zengde, Chairman of CCIC, met with Jennifer Scanlon, President and Chief Executive Officer of UL, and her delegation in Beijing.
Also in attendance were Zhou Weifang, Global Executive Vice President and Special Advisor to the CEO of UL; Li Yongji, General Manager of CCIC; and Lv Qi, Deputy General Manager of CCIC.
The two sides reviewed their 46-year partnership. They agreed that the cooperation between CCIC and UL sets a fine example for collaboration in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) industry between China and the United States. They then exchanged views on strategic cooperation and future opportunities, reached important common understandings, and mapped out plans for further collaboration. The meeting further strengthened their friendly and cooperative ties.
Xu Zengde welcomed the delegation and congratulated UL on its development achievements. He also briefed the guests on CCIC’s progress in strategic planning, business development and exploration of emerging sectors. He stated that CCIC is ready to use this meeting as a new starting point to deepen strategic alignment with UL on the basis of existing cooperation.
Jennifer Scanlon thanked CCIC for its long-standing support for UL’s global and China strategies. She noted that UL will continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market and steadily advance its partnership with CCIC. She expressed hope that the two sides will leverage their respective resources and technological strengths, follow industry trends, expand areas of cooperation, and achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.
Both sides agreed to maintain high-level communication. They will fully utilize their professional strengths and resource networks in the TIC sector, improve cooperation models, and expand collaborative fields. Together, they will provide high-quality support services to keep global industrial and supply chains stable and smooth,and jointly promote the high-quality development of the global TIC industry.
Also present at the meeting were Ann Weeks, Vice President of Global Public Affairs at UL ; David Wu, Global Vice President and General Manager for UL Solutions in Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong SAR; heads of UL-MHU, as well as leaders from UL’s legal, public affairs, marketing and corporate communications teams.
From CCIC, participants included leaders from the Group Cooperation Development Department, Strategy and Investment Department, as well as representatives from CCIC Inspection, CCIC Certification and China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI).
